about me

Spiral GIF

as an artist and researcher
i am curious about how layers of place and lineage
can collaborate with, inform, and locate my writing, questioning, and making
i am a descendent from Dutch, British, Welsh, and Irish immigrants,
and therefore am born from the mobilizations of colonial powers.
to live and create on this land, i seek to grapple with the intertwining of myself and processes of colonization
while rooting and tending to the place in which i live.

i enjoy
composition,
sound making,
exploratory writing,
listening,
collective engagement and creation,
printmaking,
storytelling,
and fragments of mundane magic
compiled into meaning.

as a child
i was stoic,
emotional,
and described as someone
who "remained in the dream world."
all is mostly still true.. though now i'm often giggling

from these landscapes of dreams
i am eager to contribute to collective spaces, practices,
and community forums.
as a member of the screaming fox collective
i help host music shows
in our living room.

as part of the
Laurier Wellbeing in Film Forum
i help organize free film nights
followed by
audience-led discussion forums.

often drawn to
talk to strangers,
watch the sky turn dark,
listen closely to the sounds of wind chimes,
i am pulled closer to the glimmers
of everyday life.
